“It was insane!” is all Carlie has to say in response to her tropical wedding weekend in Rincón, Puerto Rico. Friends and family traveled from near and far to celebrate the union of Boob-eez co-founder Carlie Christenson and her boyfriend of ten years, Tristan Thompson.
Tristan is a pro-surfer turned surf instructor. Him and his brothers grew up surfing and traveling as did Carlie’s family so what better way to kick off their legal life together than a wedding in paradise!? What started as a small elopement quickly blossomed into the event of the decade!
The wedding wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for Carlie’s parents Emilie Christenson (Boob-eez co-founder and President of Jaffis Boutique) and Dale Christenson (Carlie’s Dad and founder/CEO of The Surf Source). They rented three villas on the beach - Marias Luxury Villa, Villa Playa Maria and Villa de Zecheo - creating a compound (more like a festival) of love that spanned five days.
Dawn Hudson, a long-time Boob-eez customer and family friend of the Christensons wed the duo while standing on Maria’s beach under a toasty, evening sun. The weather was crystal clear with some playful sprigs of white clouds spotting the coastline. The crowd was decked out in linen and color, and the water sparkled like a
million forbidden jewels. The bridal party was decked out in INDAH (sponsored by Jaffis Boutique) and Boob-eez of course!!! The groomsmen glowed in JCrew. Carlie’s maid of honor Devon Christenson (professional model and actress) wore a silk gown by THE SEI, and she led their mom, Emilie, down the aisle wearing a silk gown by Faithful the Brand. The bride wore a hand-sequined gown called The Michelle by Liz Martinez and veil, all picked out from Brides by Lola Dre!
“The feeling of walking down the aisle toward Tristan on such a glowing, perfect day was the equivalent of jumping out of a plane!! It was pure adrenaline and joy, and I didn’t want the feeling or the moment to end.” - Carlie
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed homemade cuisine by world-renowned Puerto Rican chef Raúl Correa and danced the night away to DJ Anonymous (James Harper).
“My stick-on bra stayed on all night long!! Long after I was dripping in sweat. At the very end – in my buzzed state – I ripped it off and threw it at the crowd instead of my bouquet! Tristan’s cousin Darcy caught it, and I was laughing my A** off…” - Carlie
Following the wedding, guests went out to a local dive bar and went night surfing and streaking on the beach. It was an epic evening and an extraordinary trip.
